Family, Friends, Food and Fun at Hamden’s Town Center Park
I attended the Harvest and Homecoming festival last Friday night, and I couldn’t think of a better way to close out the summer festivities at Hamden’s Town Center Park. Between the great food and the terrific entertainment, the event was a smash hit!
There was a huge variety of options for food trucks, from Mamoun’s to Spuds Your Way to Disorbo’s. And, of course, we can not forget the famous Sugar Bakery -- serving up delicious cupcakes for a sweet treat afterwards. I personally enjoyed fried dough from Disorbo’s Bakery, and the confection was so delicious!
However, the event didn’t just consist of great food. This year’s festival had an Irish theme to it, and there were a couple vendors that correlated with that theme. There was even an Irish tea houser! To top it all off, the event had great live music from famed Irish-American singer Andy Cooney and the always fun DJ Rachel.
Overall, the event was a hit, and a great way to end the summer. Thank you so much those who put in hours and hours of hard work to bring such fantastic events to the residents of Hamden. Also, a special thank you goes out to Mayor Curt Balzano Leng for continually hosting community events where families and friends can enjoy themselves, relax and grab some great food together.
Two thumbs up to Mayor Leng and his team! I can’t wait for the June food festival!
